Digby Wells cycling enthusiasts, CEO Graham Trusler, Darren Dunne, Thomas Wilson, Andrew Husted, Grant Beringer and Director Lucy Koeslag will be partaking in the mammoth 900km, 9 day Old Mutal joBerg2c Mountain Biking relay challenge. The challenge runs from the 27th April to the 5th May, where over 600 cyclists will be partaking in the challenge.

Hosted by EWT, Digby Wells Environmental was a sponsor at the recent EWT Open Golf Day. The event which took place at the prestigious Swartkop Country Club on the 20th April, raised over R82,000 for the Endangered Wildlife Trust. Joy Nel, fundraiser at EWT says that the monies collected will go towards their core awareness campaign's.

Digby Wells Environmental has appointed Dr. Meme Togola as Malian Country Manager to expand its West African base. Dr. Togola was the previous Environmental Manager for Loulo Gold Mine and has taken up the position after his recent retirement from Randgold Resources.

Digby Wells Environmental is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jeff Leaver, as Non-Executive Director of the Board.

Aside from numerous qualifications in Human Resources, Labour Law and General Management, Jeff has attended various Executive Development Programmes, including a Programme on Strategic Transformation and Leadership.

Jeff’s previous employment includes that of Anglo American Corporation Gold Division from 1983 to 1991, De Beers Premier Mine (1991-1994), when in 1994 he joined De Beers Consolidated Mines Limited, Corporate Headquarters in Johannesburg. As chief negotiator for the Head Office and operations in Kimberly, Jeff was appointed General Manager: Human Resources Development at Head Office in 2000. In previous years, Jeff has played vital roles in stakeholder engagement with organized labour and the socio-political arena.

Since 2006 Jeff has worked on assignments for various Diamond and Gold companies in HR and General Management Roles. Recently he joined Gem Diamonds Limited as General Manager with an assignment that covers all the facets of managing the Galuh Cempaka mine in Indonesia, and running the disposal process of the mine.

Digby Wells' Director, Andries Wilke will be presenting on the topic of 'Sustainability – Early engagement during prospecting’ during the Min South meeting, to be held in London.

MIN SOUTH - The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining in association with Digby Wells Environmental are proud to announce that Digby Wells Director, Andries Wilke will address and highlight the importance of early engagement with all stakeholders, during the prospecting stage of a mining project.

The presentation will take place during the January General Meeting, to be held at The Counting House in London on Thursday, 12thJanuary 2012 at 6:00 PM.

Our commitment to the BBBEE philosophy has resulted in a number of focused initiatives which we believe to be the reason for the improvement in our BBBEE rating. We have now been rated as a level 2 contributor which means our clients not only receive superior service at the highest quality level but now they also receive BBBEE recognition and can claim back even more in terms of their procurement, (150% versus the previous 100%).
